Hi,
as the topic describes: joining 2 oggs with copy /b a.ogg+b.ogg c.ogg works fine, but those streams still are 2 logical separated streams.
Can someone with deeper knowledge of libvorbisfile write a tool which rewrites the granulepos/ticks/paket counters/... and other needed headers accordingly so that we produce a new, valid single stream?
I'm sure it'd be appreciated by many users (we had some close-to-flame threads about this issue in the past ;) ).
Not that I need it, but I more than once thought about "hm. now adding a leading second of silence by just copying a 1sec silent ogg together with that soundfile would be great for testing"... ;)
Any oppinions? Someone bored enough to do it?
Thanks and best regards,
Koepi

I don't know if I get your point here (the last two weeks total brain malfunction, because of my exams ;) ) but what about...
musiCutter (http://musicutter.host.sk/) ??
does it fit your needs??

That's what I found so far, but it only does it's proper job on mp3 - with ogg, it just performs a copy /b a+b c.ogg....

Am I wrong?

Cyrius asked me if it would help, too.
It _does_ work if you use the same encoding settings/targeted bitrate.
But that's a "general" problem of ogg vorbis it seems.
We're still investigating.
Thanks for the links :)

@Unplugged : You are right, but OgmMerger is painfully slow. 6-7 minutes on an Ahtlon XP 2000+ for merging 2 ogg files ( duration of each : 50 minutes, size : 44Mo ) The tool seems more designed to merge ogm than pure ogg ( or perhaps it is really hard to do, I don't know )
Edit : I was optimistic : it took 30 minutes
Edit2 : I was dumb, I didn't install the last version which is a way better ( less than one minute ). Sorry for the disturbance...

Yeah I corrected a serious bug in the latest version that would speed up the process (compared to previous versions) ;) and even make it finish correctly without crashing (Page Fault).
