I have ripped a DVD using the image option in dvd decrypter and mounted it using daemon tools. i select the ifo from the image in dvd2svcd and click convert, it asks "activate dvd ripping yes/no?" i say no, its fine as it is (its a HD based image) and then it blinks and goes back to the menu and doesnt do anything? how do i successfully override ripping?
thanks

First of all why are you using an external ripper. Rippers like DVD Decrypter have been know to cause audio synch problems with your S/VCD. Use the internal ripping software that is built into DVD2SVCD for better results.

Not to mention that rule #9 forbids the use of caps in topic titles.

okay, point taken, (dvd decrypter is useless with xmpeg too, have started using smartripper) but if i have done it this way (and given my friend back the dvd) how can i get dvd2svcd to rip from this dvd image? ive just about another 8gig of hd on this partition but its a pain ripping the rip..
im only trying to test svcd playback on my dvd seperate, is there a *huge* quality difference between 1pass cbr with no *.vaf and using multi-pass vbr and the vaf?
thanks..

You should only use other rippers as a last resort, only if the 2 rippers that come with dvd2svcd fail. That has not been done here so thread will be close as we do not support other rippers while using dvd2svcd. Also keep in mind that this site is for legal backups of dvd's which borrowing them from someone and ripping them is something we frown on so keep that in mind when posting in a thread. IF you post something to that affect again i'll lock and remove your post.
your last question is....
"im only trying to test svcd playback on my dvd seperate, is there a *huge* quality difference between 1pass cbr with no *.vaf and using multi-pass vbr and the vaf?"
yes there are differences you need to do a search as this topic as been talked about for over a year now.
