Hello there.
I have got a film encoded in DivX and has AC3-Audio. The quality is exceptional (3 hours on 3 CD's) so I thought it should give acceptable quality if I encoded it to SVCD to play it on standalone DVD player.
The first thing I tried was to merge the three avis, but the sound broke with it. I used VirtualDub (both latest version and the AC3 version).
Can you tell me how to merge it?

From this large AVI I would encode SVCD. Video is no problem, I've done it serveral times. But never with AC3 sound. The bitrate is 448kbit which is a bit much I think for SVCD (would take too much away from video) so I would like to reencode it. I have read it's possible with AC3Machine but am not sure how yet.

Can you tell me how to encode the Ac3-Sound so it will work with SVCD and how I merge audio and video together then (does bbMpeg work for this)?

Thanx in Advance,
Hironimo

Oh, and I also read only I-Author would work to create a correct SVCD image with AC3-Sound. Is that right? Where to get it?
