I also find it interesting that the minimum year you can set in windows is 1980.

What's the meaning of the 1978 creation date?

In 1980 the first IBM-PC with the CPU Intel 8088 came to world(with M$ DOS 1.0). So perhaps thought Bill Gates that nothing should be happen before 1980.

The VCD came in 90's to world so it is impossible someone(except E.T.s) made VCD/SVCD in year 1978 - But who knows if you are a E.T. or not:D
