Does the entire capture have to be resaved if only the last segment is edited?

Hi,

Say I have a 2 hour continuous Vdub capture than consists of several 2 gig segments. If I wanted to chop off a few minutes at the very end of the last segment, can I edit and resave just that last segment or do I have to resave the entire capture?

Likewise, if I wanted to edit say one of the middle segments, would I have to resave the entire the project or just the middle segment that was changed?

It should work if you have MJPEG or huffy with only resaving the last segment, but you might get problems with the sound. My suggestion is: try. If it works then good, if not then you did try it. Personally I never resaves a capture, I just create a AviSynth script with the proper trim(start,stop).

just cut out all unwanted scenes of your capture and hit: 'save processing settings' next time you load your capture again (still uncutted) just load your processing settings and that's it - you'll see that your capture is cut on the exact same positions just like on the day before ;)
