Am I dreaming?

I've got my all time favorite movie : "Anne Of The Green Gables". But then I discovered that there is no subtitle at all. Not even the english subtitle. I was thinking if there is any program that will take the voices only from the movie and convert them to text. Even better it will put the time the voice occured and duration. Or Am I just dreaming :p

Unless to want to make them yourself with SubStation Alpha, I think, not much you can do.

Anyhow do you mean that I have to enter the subs manually? But you didn't say if there is any program to extract the voices and convert them into text. Or do you mean I have to hear every thing they say and write it down :rolleyes: . Hence : English is not my native language :)

A voice-to-text app would be great but I doubt you would find one that is accurate and even then, you would be copy/pasting into another app to make the subs. Are the subs that important to warrant all this hassle? I'll see if I can find them online somewhere.

I did see a japanese version with subtitles.
If you could somehow get these, rip them to txt, translate and finally back to subtitle (srt) you'll be in bussiness.:)

I believe that I saw this Japaneese subtitle and I don't think it belongs to the same movie. I think it is mostly for the animated series. I think my only hope now is to find voice-to-text app. :)

There is no software which can 'convert' voice to text enough accurate, even not from clean sound, what is of course never case in movies.
Also translating back to English from Japanese will give ridiculous results. I translated with some online translator Great Dictator from French to original language, English, and it was mostly far from that what they spoken. More than half of sentences was nonsense.
Later translated with some expensive program by my friend, it was much better, at least most of sentences was OK. But it was still far from that what we hear. Later I translated that movie by voice, and it was not easy because of bad quality (movie is from 1940).
It looks that SF authors were too optimistic - remember HAL from Odysea 2001, we don't have nothing even close so intelligent.
Not too mention destination of spaceship projected to 2001...

By the way, since you've mentioned 2001: A Space Odyssey I would like to say that the conversation between HAL and his creator at the end of the sequal 2010 was the most brilliant conversation I've ever heard in a movie :)

It seems that there are many fans for "Anne Of Green Gables" around the world. I didn't imagine that :)

I even found a korean site dedicated for "Anne Of Green Gbles" fans in Korea.

Anyhow I find a great site for a guy who did a great job on writing the scripts for the first two parts of the movie. I can now try to enter them into one of the subtitle editing programs. I really would like to thank that great guy who did this great job :)
