I have just downloaded the trial of spruceup, I want to create a simple menu, with just a "Play" button.

Say, for example, I rip a movie to my hard-drive - Just the movie (vobs and ifos), no extras and no menu. What do I do if i want to create a simple menu for this movie using spruceup.

Do I have to add the VOB files in spruceup? I tried this and got an error msg saying address header error or something.

How do I create a simple menu for my ripped movie?

I have looked at spruceup menu tutorials, but these seem to be for movies that have been encoded in TMPEnc, not for ripped vobs.

Thanks for any help on this.

Cheers

Well the way I do it is to rip the streams

goto www.dvd2dvdr.com for a good basic guide on this

Basically you will just rip it a little different way and then create a background, import the video/audio file that was ripped, add a button.. and author it

Thanks for that.

So can I just use DVD2AVI on my Vobs on my pc to get a .m2v and .ac3
for use in spruceup?

I see that spruceup uses a .m2v and I cannot add my vobs directly.

Thanks again for the help.

You can just rerip the movie with Smartripper

Go to that site I posted and it will show you how to do it with Smartripper.. will take you 20 minutes or so and you will be all set with your .m2v and .ac3 file

I'll give it a try later on this evening.

Thanks for your info.

P.s. Then does spruceup create the vob files at the end of the process?

It worked!

Thanks very much for you help.

I have one more question though.

If I have some vobs on my hard-drive, that I downloaded (e.g. trailers etc) How can I create a .m2v file for them?

I thought I could use dvd2avi but it produces a .d2v file.

Is there anyway I cany create an .m2v file for each VOB INDIVIDUALLY, so I could import 6 different "media assets" into spruceup, and link to each individually?

Thanks a lot
