I want to change the bitrate of a AC3 file from 448 to 384.

Can anyone tell me the exact BeSweet command wich changes the bitrate without doing anything else to the file?

Thanks!

I think AC3 machine can help you:

If not... this is the command i had:

"C:\Program Files\AC3 Tool\BeSweetv1.4\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "myfile.ac3" -output "destination.ac3" ) -azid( -g max ) -ac3enc( -b 384 ) -profile( The AC3Machine v0.4 )

i hope you'll get it! ciao

reducing from 448 to 384 is ridiculous IMHO, the bitrate gain of 64kbps is negligeable, and you loose lot of quality.
Better keep it as is.

Well, it is because the AC3 file is just a little too big to fit on a DVD-R together with the movie...

Hmm, if you're recompressing the movie anyway, just set a lower video bitrate and all should be fine.

If you're not recompressing the video, then I guess you don't have a choice but to recompress the audio.
If you don't really need 5.1 sound, you can downmix to 4.1 (2 front, 2 rear, center being mixed in the 2 front channels) so 384kbps won't cause much quality loss (with 320kbps being minimum)
