Just thought you'd guys find this interesting. I rented a couple of movies from DVDOvernight.com (a couple of Home XXX videos - I know, tisk, tisk...). Anyway, two interesting things to note. First, they were Ritek G3's (I can see the dark purple and serial number starting with C1-xxx). Second, they applied a thin, translucent label (like the Compulabel's I use).

I wonder if the company producing the DVD's did as much research as we (members of this forum) have done! I'll have to contact the producer and see what feedback they've received about the media.

I spoke with the guy from "Shot at Home" video. He was pretty cool! They chose the DVD-R media for compatibility and price. I'll try to post a link later to his article he posted about why they chose one format over the other.

heheheh that made me laugh :)

I've always heard that the porn industry was usually really up on the latest tech, so if they're using Ritek's, maybe there is something good about them.

Yeah, isn't that a hoot! A really cool guy, he said he went through about 8 different brands of DVD-R's before settling in on the Riteks.

Also , it turns out he DOESN'T use a label, he prints them on printable Riteks. My EZ/CD Printer should be in next week, so I'll get the experience myself. It was a little bit of $$ at $299, but well worth it - from what he tells me. My first choice was going to be the new Epson 950, but they're not selling it in the States yet, so I went with the other.

Padre,

where'd you find the CD printer? I've been thinking about getting one too, just haven't looked hard enough yet. Plus, I always wanted to get into the Porn industry, maybe this is my chance!

I bought the EZ/CD Printer at CDROM2GO.Com. It was on sale last week for $299. I just checked today, and it's up ato $339. Still, that's the cheapest out there.
