Scenarist says it has a way to make a "DivX Disc", but goes into no details. Does anyone know exactly what a Divx Disc is, and how to make one? I want to make a DivX disc that will play in the forthcoming DivX "approved" players, and I'd like to know more about exactly what this format is!

I don't know scenarist, but I can think of two different things a "DivX Disc" might be:

1) A standard data CD containing an .avi file which used one of the many DivX codecs for video compression. It could be DivX 4, DivX 5, or the SBC DivX 3. The KiSS standalone player, I'm given to understand, can read DivX 4 or DivX 5 (non-pro features) in this fashion.

2) There used to be, in the early digital video disc marketplace, a disc format known as DIVX, to compete with DVD. It was designed to allow a consumer to "rent" or "own" a disc, and never have to return it. It required the set-top box have a telephone connection, for billing and licensing of discs for unlimited play.

Doh! Of course! How dumb can I be. Thanks.
