Hi,
In XVID builds after December 09 the encoder has two new options inside "Decoder Options": Luma deblocking and Chroma deblocking
Does this mean pre-processing before encoding, or some sort of encoding optimization for post-processing?

They are post-processing options that won't be used with my decoder, but will be used with anything that uses the DLL, i.e ffdshow (with use xvid.dll set) and VirtualDub.

But these are just flags, or any kind of encoding optimization regarding
the deblocking result ?

I test this VfW's postprocessing (built-in on xvid.dll, not xvid.ax). It's excelent!!!
Nic's decoder is good too, but too strong for me (I make movies with average quant about 3).
Built-in luma/chroma deblocking is decent, prety soften, very nice for me! Don't blurring more.
Question:
This deblocking algorithm is smartly depend on used quant in postprocessed video? :D

@harrym
afaik, you can weaken the postprocessing in nic's decoder by _increasing_ the threshold values.

I know, I personally use 40/40.
