View Full Version : Need help with muxing 2 audio streams in an OGM

Here is the situation: The movie was in two discs, and of course so was the sound. I encoded each part seperately, so I now have 4 vorbis files with audio. If joining the vorbis files (so i have 2) and muxing them results in audio being async, what would be my best choice?

I think it would be to open the whole movie in VirtualDubMod, then mux first my 2 audio streams until the time when the first part of the movie (the one that was in the first DVD) ends, and then do the same with the rest. Then I would have two ogms, each with 2 audio streams and (I believe) synchronized. Then I would have to join them and I'm done. But wouldn't that solution create problems when playing back the file, e.g. changing audio streams where first DVD part ends, while it should've continued?

I hope I was clear enough , any help appreciated. :)

I'm not an expert at this, but let me say what I think you could do. First, I'm not sure if it would be easy to join two OGM-streams, at least I know no tool that could do this. When you still have the DVD (I assume so, you wouldn't rip a DVD that's not your own, would you?), then you could try to extract the audiostreams and mux the AC3-Files together, using besplit. Then you could transcode them to vorbis and see if this works. Did you encode the movie in one piece (using the vobs of both Discs) or did you encode each disc seperately. When I was using the first method last time (first time), then I got 25 or 26 black frames inserted before the second disc started. This could also cause the asynchronity.

I've just testet OGMerge from suiryC and it worked very well. When your two OGM's for themselves have synchron sound, then you should give this program a try. The program can be found in the OGMTools thread in this forum (to lazy to search myselfes :) )
