I'm not sure what they mean by "true 2x" and no upgrade required.

I wonder if these will burn at 2X on my A03 reliably or not.

and who says they're Ritek? The Meritline cheap 2x DVD-Rs also have a picture with a dark purple bottom.. but the actual discs have a light purple bottom, the discs are TDKG02 (the cheaper version which is crap). Or as another example the ACCU and TDK 2x discs at meritline. The Picture made one believe it that the bottom side was some sort of gray, just like DVD-RWs have, whereas the real color is light purple.

I think that those discs aren't Riteks. A friend got some 2x that look sort of like that from allmediaoutlet.com, and they were definitely not Riteks. They were sold as "Princo" but the recordable lead-in was that TDK code to allow 2x burning, but not actually made by TDK.

Point is, they were difficult to burn and they didn't play in many standalones (even when burned at 1x in the Sony).

Yea you're right, they're probably not Riteks at all. damn...the way they show it on the web page is a bit misleading. They're totally generic right under the Ritek's.
