Imagine that I want to order a DVD from USA (region 1) and want to see it in Portugal (Region 2) and this DVD doesn't have Portuguese subtitles.
Then I went and got these Portuguese subs from somewhere. They are 23,976 fps, the format of the file is .sub or .srt
So how can I transform this in DVD subs. Is there any soft that can reconstruct the .bmp using the sentences in the .sub/.srt file ? What passes should I follow ?
Do I have to enconde the movie into NTSC also ? Or can I enconde it as PAL (which I prefer) and convert the subs into PAL (25 fps) ?
I think this could help many people from Europe who want to get region 1 movies that haven't been released yet in Europe and not so soon.

Hi,
iīm not 100% sure about the procees, but itīs something like this:
- Extract the audio and the video files from the original Dvd.
- Find the Portuguese subs in the .srt format or other, and change them to .ssa format ( with ssa convert ).
- Then you can use Maestro SBT to edit the subs.
- Authoring the dvd is the next step, and thatīs a rap!!
