i've re-encoded the godfather and that went all good..

after authering with maestro everything is ok.. when i load that titleset in powerdvd the video, audio en subtitles work fine..

but then when i try to incorporate my re-encoded movie into the original dvd structure by using ifoupdate the subtitles become messed up..

video, chapters and audio selection works fine but it doesn't matter what subtitle language i select (in menu or during the movie) it keeps displaying norwegian (stream 1)..

anyone any idea?

regards,

Lev

same thing happens to me:

after ifoupdate the ifo contains still 2 subpictures but with the same ID 0x20

I have no idea how to change the subpricture ID, ifoedit allows no way for editing it.

Funny: the original ifo as well as the new authored ifo contains two subtitles with ID 0x24 and 0x25. ifoupdate corrects the original ifo, but the ID's for the subpictures are both 0x20 after ifoupdate

Seems that the subtitle with ID 0x24 is now accessable as 0x20 ????
Maybe the second stream is accessable as 0x21 but how to change it in the ifo file after ifoupdate ???

open the ifo in ifoedit. Nav to PGCITI and u can change the code there. The big negative number u see there contains the stream number as well as the usage of the stream in 4:3, 16:9 etc screen modes.

Unfortunaltely I don't have researched for the algorithm that is capable of producing it. I am only copying the values and pasting them in the stream that I need.

Thx, that hint was the solution. In fact, ifoupdate seems to loose the aspect dependency. The ID was written right but has been put by ifoupdate to the wrong aspect ration (4:3 instead of 16:9)

is there any homepage for ifoupdate ? I only know the soft link on doom9.org
