I'm real wary of trying out new online vendors.

I hear ya! I was happy using Shop4Tech, until they started doing the PrimeDisc/Ritek/Vivastar bait&switch. So I ordered 100 Riteks with cases from AllMediaOutlet.com. They arrived on time and have worked just fine! I've ordered more since. But I've also ordered them from Rima and some others, just in case another vendor problem develops.

So far, I'd have to give AllMediaOutlet my thumbs up.

Thanks! I'm going to give them a try. If you don't hear from me then it means it went well but I'll try to post about it regardless.

i was also wondering about allmediaoutlet.com since they have the lowest prices on the Ritek 2x dvd-r. May just give them an order!

I got my last 50 pack of Princo dvd's from allmediaoutlet. They work fine so far.

Regarding the 1x Princo cheapies from allmediatoutlet, I've gone through a ton of them and have had the following experience:

1st 100: Perfect. No coasters (i.e., other than my own incompetence at making unplayable discs); burn in my Sony DRU 500a at 1x, play in my Panasonic standalone and in several other players. (Burning them with Nero or RecordNow that came with the drive).

2nd 100: Also fine. 2 coasters (i.e., mid-burn, Nero would give a burn error).

Another spindle of 50: 8 coasters out of 50... thinking it was a bad batch, but still pissed me off.

Next spindle of 50: 8 coasters out of the first 10, trying to burn a disc that was 4.32 gigs. Came to the conclusion that that spindle was defective, but only at the outer edge, because all the burn errors happen near the end. Currently using the spindle up on discs that are 4.22 gigs or less, and no problems. Still quite annoying.

Next spindle of 50: No coasters at all, even on the fullest discs possible.

Regarding their quality as vendors (service, etc.), they've been quite good. Ship the same or next day, as advertised. Have been correctly invoiced, no problems at all. Made one order over the phone, no difficulties. Only small complaint is that a couple of the DVD cases that came with my discs were cracked (but only once, and only 3 out of 100... probably UPS's fault).

Anyway, that's been my experience with them.

I'm next going to try some of the Ritek G03's that burn at 2x in the drive. I've done 2 and they've been fine, so I think I'll order some of those. I may go to another vendor, though, that's cheaper -- we'll see.
