I have both SPECIES and SPECIES II that I want to backup.
I want to keep everything for both EXCEPT the full screen version.
Can someone explain me how to do it easily. I've tried without success with SPECIES II. The full screen version is on the VTS_01 files...I've used DVD Decrypter and IFOEdit... Thanks for your help.
I've read the guide HOW TO PUT A DUAL ASPECT RATIO MOVIE ONTO A DVD-R but doesn't resolve my problem...

More than likely a DVD that contains both fullscreen and widescreen will also have an aspect ratio option screen. You can delete your titleset 1 and get VTS Sectors. It will work. But if you do, you would have a problem with the aspect ratio screen. If you chose fullscreen, your movie would error-out as it is looking for titleset.

The guides tell you what to keep but not fixing the aspect ratio option.

Edit: Sorry, my bad. I reread my reply and found that it was titleset 1. We need titleset 1. You still need to IFOedit but not all DVD navigate the same.

In your VIDEO_TS.IFO, what titles are associated with fullscreen and widescreen?

Note: to jump to titles, VMG(Video Manager) is the place to do it.
-------------------
example

Number of Title Play Maps: 30 (VMG_PTT_SRPT)
Title 1: VTS_01_*, TTN_1 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 22) (Start Sector 154044) fullscreen
Title 2: VTS_02_*, TTN_1 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 22) (Start Sector 2732407) widescreen
-------------------
Before you do any edits, make back ups of your IFOs.

When you find what title goes to what aspect ratio moive then, go into VIDEO_TS.IFO/VMGM_PGCI_UT and browse through all the menus pre/post commands looking for your fullscreen title number. Replace that with your widescreen title number. You may need to hexedit.

So if you select fullscreen in your aspect ratio option, you should get widescreen. This is just a button functionality band-aid fix on your aspect ratio option screen. As for getting rid of the aspect ratio option screen, that's another ballfield.

So actually, you can delete your fullscreen vobs (VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_*.VOB) if you do the fix above.
