has anyone figured out how to backup the LOTR Extended version?

it comes on 2 dvd's.
each dvd is about 6 gig!

any thoughts on how to back this up?

Use IFOEdit on each disc (ripped to the HD). Strip all but one audio track and all subtitles - no menu. Concerning the 2nd disc - the last VOB consists of a scroll of user group names. Delete that one. The next to last is half end credits. You can cut that out with VOBEdit - but the disc will still be 34MB over the limit, so hold on. The 1st one is way too large. Both projects have 5 VOBs. Rename the 2nd set 6-10 and merge them into the 1st and Run IFOEdit again. You now have the entire movie in one directory. Now can we split twice and burn them onto 3 DVD-Rs? I haven't done that yet and may not as long as I have the HD space. In short the only way to back up onto 2 discs is to transcode to lower quality. No way am I going to do that! The only reason I went to all this trouble is that my new burner doesn't recognize the originals.

thanks.

bummer, the only solution is to split to 3 dvd's.

not going there.
