I recently got a DVD+r drive, and I have been spending all my time since then trying to figureout how to copy DVDs. I finally got it to work, or so I thought. I sucessfully copied a DVD (Chicken Run, if that matters at all) and it plays just fine in my home DVD player. I figure I've found the method that makes it work. I used that same method to try and copy Pootie Tang and The Sandlot, and both encountered the same problem.
I can get my DVD player to recognize that it is a a DVD, and it even starts playing, but once it gets to the FBI warning, it freezes, and I can't skip ahead or anything. Is this some sort of copy protection? If so, is there any way to get around it?
In case you need to know, I am running Windows XP, and using SmartRipper to get the vob files and Nero to burn them.
Thanks in advance.
