Folks,
Just curious. What is the longest movie anyone has backed up (after removing menus, unwanted languages and subs) without re-encoding to a lower bitrate? Please list in minutes and name of movie. Thanks!

Ok guys....I used 3 movies as a baseline: Rush Hour 1, Barbershop and Shrek. Both Rush Hour and Barbershop averaged .039 gigs a sec while Shrek took .041 gig a second. Does the animated stuff take up more space? The average of those 3 movies is .040 gis a sec. That means I can approx fit a 116 min movie on a DVD. Of course subs stripped and 1 audio stream kept. What is your longest movie? Of course this is assuming they all use the same or similar average bit rate to encode or am I speaking out of sheer ignorance?

Just curious wouldn't 0.040 gb/s be roughly 40 mb/s (I think 1024 mb make 1 gb). Do you mean 4 mb/s?

I think Sincity is talking about gigabytes per minute, abbreviated GB/M. 0.040 GB/M is equivalent to 5.46 Mb/s (megabits per second)
