I've made succefull backup of my DVD movies with DVD Decrypter + IfoEdit whith the help guide of doom9 (excellent !).
My question:
Must i allways rip the whole content of the DVD to make a backup (of the movie only !)or can i chose to rip only the main movie (VTS_01_0 -> X).
I've tried to rip this way but when i work with IfoEdit, it say something like "VIDEO_VTS... is missing"
So : can i just rip the VTS_01_0 -> x and VIDEO_TS.IFO or some other things ?
Thanks for your help :)

You can just rip the main movie and place these decrypted files in a directory named "VIDEO_TS" otherwise your set top dvd player will not recognise the disc. The only problem with ripping just the main movie is that you will have to re-author the dvd and you will not have the movie extras.

you'll need the VTS_xx_0.ifo
open ifo edit, press vob extras and don't forget to select create new ifo's (movie only).
i think it will work like that.

You will only need vts_xx_0.ifo if you use ifoedit to strip streams and language tracks. Then you will need to set First Play PGC in ifoedit. (search the forums). If you re-author the dvd with a program like maestro then all these vts_xx_0.ifo files will be automatically created for you and it will be incredibly easier to set the first play.
p.s First play is the first thing the dvd player displays to the user. In this case it will be the main movie since you only decrpyted the main movie and usually the menu files are on a different vob. You can still have a main menu but its a tiresome and repetitive process.

I copy the vts & video-ts ifo's and replace them with the ones that ifo creates. The new ones sometimes leave out information for the subtitles, and you get these green fuzzy subs. You can manually do this but why?
