View Full Version : DVD-9 to 2 DVD-5: 2nd DVD image file is too small

I've fought with this problem for a month or two now on various titles (Shrek, The Perfect Storm, MI:2 just to name a few). I have no problem when making the first disk, or if I do a movie only format that fits onto one disk.

To be more precise, I try and follow the guide to the letter, and think I am doing so to the best of my understanding. I get everything to the point where I use imgtool to create the disk images. The image for the first disk appears to be the right size (~4GB), but the image for the second always seems to be way to small, usually less than 1MB, when it should be about 4GB.

Has anyone else seen this? Like I said before it is very title independant, so I'm sure it is something I am doing wrong.

I'm currently using the following tools:
ImgTool 0.89
IfoEdit 0.94
DVD Decrypter 3.1.2

Thanks in advance.

It usually happens because your files are not in sequential order or you have a specific VOB set missing.

I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong but what may work for me might work for you.

What I use for burning DVDs or images:
1) Nero 5.5.9.17 because I hear that Nero's latest 5.5.10.0 has problems.
2) ImgTool 0.94. You can burn directly or if image is burnt, burn image in Nero.

I use IfoEdit 0.91 for all my splits. When I split the chapters, I select a chapter not a cell.
