all of a sudden virtualdub can't see my asus card

I was using virtualdub to capture although my asus graphics card does come with it's own capture program. I get better black values and more control over it in virtual dub, it's also less lossy.

then all of a sudden today, it's decided it can't see the capture port on my port.

it says the capture driver is incorrectly installed?? and yet no system settings have changed. I am running 6.31c drivers from asus for the 6800 deluxe. this was the last set of drivers they did for this card under win98.

anyone got any suggestions?

I am not familiar with capture, but did you try to capture with its own program?

oh it's own programme works but the color controls aren't as elegant and it stutters at the point that it segments into a second capture file.

I sorted it in the end. I had to revert to a 2 year old OS backup (idiot boy) and put bits and bobs that were missing back on.
