I'm currently attempting to create my own DVD videos using my MATSHITADVD-RAM LF-D310A123 drive which is 4.7gb and can supposedly write to DVD-RAM and DVD-R disks. In cooperation with my drive I'm using InstantCD/DVD software (v6.5). Whenever I utilise InstantVideo and create a project, inserting MPEG files of my own, I select PAL format, sometimes I decide to put a title and author in, other times I just leave the default in which is (New .....). Then I begin the process I select the write option and it begins the conversion progress. My MPEG files are about 30 megs and so the conversion takes about 2hours or something. After the conversion has completed it prepares the file, after reaching 100% on the preparation a "Catastrophic Failure" occurs, the full error is as follows "Exception E01eException in module INSTANTVIDEO.EXE at 001D1F82 catastrophic failure". Some of the 0s may have been Os in the error I was unsure. After this error the preparation bar stays visible and the program does nothing else, it basically freezes. I have two drives in my computer my MATSHITADVD-RAM drive has two icons in my computer it has "Compact Disk (F)" and "Removable Disk (E)" I don't know why it has two icons could anybody please advise me. My other drive TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R1002 can only play DVDs, and in my computer is represented by the "Compact Disk (D)" icon. For a last bit of information my MATSHITADVD-RAM drive has driver version 3.5.19.1, it has "IW file system active" box ticked as well as the "Show finalize dialog before a disc is ejected" box ticked, also the "Add Icon to the taskbar when media is in the drive" box is ticked and finally "Show All Media Tips" box is ticked and greyed out so it cannot be changed. My drive is not shared and all other boxes in the properties tab are unchecked. Please send me any and all helpful information that anyone thinks may solve my problem. My MATSHITADVD-RAM drive has a brand name of MIRROR, also there is a PANASONIC LFD311DMS which i believe to be the same model and also VIVASTAR seem to have the same type of drive. I have given you almost all the information I can think of.
Thanking you in advance
