@all...

I hv problem with ripping with DVD_Dcrypt...
the disk is un-encrypted..all-region(LOR-TT & HP-2)
--Every time i rip the DVD... at a particular chapters.. i get read errors.... and its there for ever!!!!
--When i play the DVD on PC with windvd/powerdvd.... it struck at particular place... and there forever!!!!
BUT the same works clearly on a standalone player(Pioneer DVD)....
DVD-dcrypt complains about read errors!!!!,
Now how do i overcome this read erors!!!! i saw some post that DVDDcrypt can over come this... but how...

I hv cleaned the DVD disk, dvd-rom(Sony 16x 1621 with pathed S1p6, Primary Slave, DMA enabled, XP sp1) drive... but now luck!!!! i hv tested other disk(DAD) works fine!!!

PS: I used cdckeck even this strucks at same place(error--recovery error)... tried smart ripper... its still worse, no authentication, vstrip... no luck

Are these films on DVDR? Tell your mate, or whoever burns them to buy decent blank discs!
Standalone players are MUCH more forgiving and so wont have a problem playing disc that a pc dvdrom wouldnt even initialise!

Some readers are better than others, perhaps you could try reading off in another one. It doesnt matter which software you use because the problem is with the drive.

Under tools/settings/i/o put a check in ignore read errors and see what happens.

Ignoring them wont solve the problem.
Having the wrong mode for the track on a dvd is impossible. It only supports Mode 1 / 2048.
Ive seen this before a couple of times, but I have no idea why it would suddenly happen whilst reading. dumb ass drive!
