does disable macro have any effect

ive tried both disable macrovision and make region free and left the options empty in dvd decrypter and it doesnt seem to make any difference to the ripping speed at all,could anybody shed any light why it is there and when it should be used.thanks.

think about if you had kids with a video recorder in their room and no dvd player , but remember you can only have 1 back up copy :rolleyes:

Im sorry mike, what i meant was does it make any diff to the ripping, encoding, burning, issue,because as most dvd players can be disabled anyway will it make any difference to the end product.thanks.
