View Full Version : Cheating the audio/video sync nightmare

Guys, just in case it may come in handy.
Not the perfect solution, but sometimes makes sense.

I've had a PAL DVD recently that had musical video clips - about 30 of them. Amazingly, the audio was getting progressively more out of sync with each chapter, and by the end of disc got really nasty.

Just for the experiment, I extracted all chapters separately, downsampled them separately and then put them all together in the Scenarist - so, the audio did not have a chance to get away too far within each chapter.

It worked out nicely, although I should admit - this is working, but ugly method. Still, maybe someone will benefit from it.

There was a moment when I thought - maybe I was just too stupid not to use some AviSynth filter (I did not get my learning curve to their level yet), but I see that experienced people here keep having audio sync problems - so I'd think they already tried to stabilize the frame rate before downsampling...
