I'm backing up buffy season 2 disc 1.
Followed all the correct procedures using the ifoedit and cce guide.
plays no probs on standalone. But the picture appears to be the wrong aspect by this I mean it if there is fast movement,e.g someone running it looks like there are shadows of this person.I have set quality level at 5 min 1000 and max 4000,gop 4 and have tried both 4:3 and 4:3 panscan(it is pal and the m2v file says 4:3)through scenarist neither work I get the same problem.
There are no angles in the vts folder(only one vts with 5 pgcs).i hope someone can shed some light on this as I can get it working no probs but I need to know what is causing this shadowing.
Its like ripping the abyss which has both 16:9 and 4:3 and not altering the angles you get that shadow like picture in high motion scenes.
Any help would be great.could it be some kinda copy protection?

Do you get the same problem in PowerDVD? A screencap would be nice... I've never noticed these shadows so I can't really tell what you mean.

Hi Mikecito,I do get the problem with buffy on powerdvd. To get an idea what I mean hold your hand a 1 foot away from you face and wave it back and fore fast and you'll see exactly what I mean. You can see a few of your hand from the starting and finishing point.
Not a very technical way to describe the problem but you'll see whatI mean.
I had the same problem when i ripped the main movie of the abyss from the collectors edition(the one with 16:9 and 4:3 ratio) and didn't remove the angle pointers.
I've tried all aspects no joy, just dunno what is wrong.
The menu is perfect it's the episodes with are doing this

I love your explanation - you can all picture me now waving my hand in front of my face....

I've seen this problem when I've had deinterlace issues and stuff.... but never because of angles. But I've never ripped more than one angle, either.

Maybe interlace issues? That's all I can think of. Sorry!

It's a very accurate way of seeing the problem,be it whacky t try out.
I'll try different (de)interlace options and thanks for replying at least now I have something to work on.
Thanks again Mikecito.I was gonna do the starwars phantom menace but it has 5 angles and seems to comeup mis math error in scenarist near end of remux soI'm not even going there for a while!
