i want to create a DVD that has only the main menu. (besides the main movie :p )
the problem is that i have a DVD that shows up a language selection screen. but that menu is a little conplicated.
if i choose english, spanish or italian, the main menu will be it one of the chosen languages, but if i choose portuguese the main menu will be in english, and the subs will be portuguese.
now what i want is to get rid of that menu. i want the english main menu to apear as soon as i insert the DVD, and the PT subs ON by default (pretty much like in The Sixth Sense).
can that be done in a simple way using IFOEDIT ???

i've tried stripping vob id's of the menus (menu extras button). but that doesn't work.
i think the info has to be in the VIDEO_TS.IFO all i need is to look carefully.

This is a feature of most of Disney movies...
I'm trying to get the same.
Try to use the DVD Play Button and get what Titles was played.
Maybe you can strip something... :D

destemido,
Can I ask what movie you're working on?

@ Destemido,
tell us the movie you working on. But if choosing the Portuguese menu it appears the English one, maybe thatīs a dvd bug? It wouldnīt be the first! You can fix it with Dvdmaestro, but it takes a lot of work ( just follow the guide ).
With Ifoedit you must identify the menu you want and strip the others. But i believe you already tried that with no luck.
Tell us the result of your tries.

i'm working on COUNT OF MONTECRSISTO. it's not a DVD bug.
the animated main menu is only availiable in 3 languages. and since we portuguese are unfortunately soo "small" they left us out.
i've come up with that kind of menus more than once.
movies like:
- The scorpion king
- 40 days and 40 nights
- shrek
also...
- Top Secret
- Truman show
even though the two last ones don't really count because they have no main menu. that is the only screen i get before playing the movie.
For what i've seen all old Paramount Pictures DVD are like that.
there's Armaggeddon, which is also from them and it has a menu.

currently i'm doing "Shrek" and there is more than one language i want to keep.
so i'm going to have to do some steps manually.
i have a VTS_01_0.VOB with 762MB. now that file contains the menus pages for all the 3 languages. If i strip the languages in VIDEO_TS.IFO it won't do anything to this file which is a shame.
as it should!! therefore solving my problem.
now i have do double click on every "menu line" under language menu unit.
if you didn't know... you can double click on every id, so you will know which vob id's to strip. useful for the video_ts.ifo and the Copyright warnings.
well time for hardwork.
but this wouldn't happen if the studios that made this DVD hadn't been so lazy.
because, if i have 3 language menus in VIDEO_TS.ifo i should also have those same three menus in vts_01_0.ifo. it would make my life easier....
well.. i'll be waiting for more answers...
