First problem was that ReMpeg at 100% said it was still transcoding after twelve hours. Cancelled operation and continued. After adding the m2v file in infoedit the sound does not sync with the video. Why?
Thanks for helping

Did you remux or author your DVD-R?
It sounds like you authored it. If so you have to tell the multiplexor what the delay is supposed to be, if any, between the video & audio streams.

I used DVD Decrypter and then from there took the VOB files into Rmpeg and then remuxed in Infoedit.
Thanks

I've never experienced a synch problem with a rempeg remux at all.
How far out is it?
Did you remux the exact same set of vob's that you processed with rempeg2?
In other words, did you process vob's with rempeg2, then strip streams or vob id's and then remux?
That's the only scenario I can think of that would cause what you describe.

with the movie bad company there was a little 5 sec blank sound file in the first .vob and after i used ifoedit to strip the first vobid it worked

I immediately rempeged the files from DVDcrypter. Is that what caused the problem?
Thanks

surferbert-
You should always do all stripping of streams & vob id's from your files you're going to transcode before transcoding. If you're going to author as opposed to remuxing you also need to demux your audio streams after you've stripped them.
This does two things, it lets you know how much you need to change the bitrate and also lightens the load on your computer and speeds things up a little by having smaller files to process. In addition, if your going to author instead of remuxing, your files will be in synch so long as you input the proper delay time into IFOEdit when you author.
If you're going to author the movie, you'll probably need AC3 Delay Corrector if you have a negative delay over 30 ms. It will correct the delay and get it within the range IFOEdit can work with. This range problem is only an issue with negative delays.
You can find AC3 Delay Corrector at:

Good Luck!
