View Full Version : Chapter XTractor + Maestro + PAL to NTSC film - chapter syncing?

OK. After converting the film "Microcosmos" from PAL to NTSC, I have encounted an annoying problem. I got the chapter list from the original IFO with Chapter XTractor, saved, and imported to Maestro. However, I guess the time difference from PAL to NTSC messes this up, so all the chapters are slightly in the wrong place. Is there any way to correctly import the original chapters in my converted film? I tried every framerate setting in Chapter XTractor with no positive results (I originally tried 29.97, thinking that it would easily fix them).

Anyway, chapters will not sync no matter what on my NTSC .M2V file created from PAL. If anyone knows of a program or any other way that this can be done correctly, please let me know.

Thanks,

Has anyone found a work around? I'm having the same problem as above. In WinDVD, the PAL movie has chapter points just fine. When I open that ifo in Chapter Extractor, export the chapters, and then import them in my newly created NTSC movie, the chapters are way off.

Hopefully I'm missing the easy solution.

TIA,

Well, I figured out a solution if anyone does a search about this same problem. :)

I followed Doom9's Guide to author DVD's using IfoEdit, instead of using Maestro. I extracted the CellTimes from the original PAL ifo and used them in creating the new NTSC DVD in IfoEdit.
