I'm using Virtualdub 1.413 with Premiere and a frameserver. I installed the radium mp3 codec but the damn thing wont show up in virtualdub's compression list. Also i used the Nimo Codec pack build 7 or something, done everything 3 times, even uninstalled premiere and virtualdub and all codecs. They wont show in XP's hardware Audio codec list either. Ive been doing this all day and im so **** p*ssed.
Help or ill break something.

Well, big problem you got there :(
radium..i presume you use this (http://www.riphelp.net/downloads/radium_codec.html) one ?
Can't say if its a problem with premiere - i don't use it.
But at least the the radium mp3 codec should be visible as "Frauenhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec"
You said you don't see in in virtualdub...is there perhaps a empty line visible like
(codec)
empty line
(codec) ?
Happened to me when the codec had a too high priority in the audio-codecs...minimal '10' is good.
(Somehow the microsoft-codecs don't like it when something is higher than themselves there i think)
That's all i can say, hope you can find a bit usefull...

I cant get any codecs to show up in XP Device Manager/audio/video codecs. Except now for the Fraunhofer codec which i let Media Player automatically download. There are just two video codecs showing, when before i screwed something up i had at least 15. I was doing a lot of messing with codecs, the registry and capture software, so im not surprised . Just wondering if there;s any way to start from scratch with audio/video codecs without doing a clean XP install?

Unsure if this will help, but you could try a system restore?
