Hi. Im quite a newbie to the dvdr scene. I have successfully learned how to reencode/rebuild using cce and scenarist and I dont like the way these tng eps come out. They look very nice most of the time but in cg pure ntsc scenes it looks aweful. So i have decided to scrap all of those re-encoded ones ive made and just split the dvds in half instead, and back up the original ifos, bups, and menu vob in a zip incase i ever want to put them back together again (incase dual layered recordables ever come out, or some other thing). Is there a good way to do this? Ive read posts where ppl have ended up with a completely mixed up mess of a menu system when trying split up these tng disks. If anyone has success stories splitting these tng dvds while keeping the orig menu system please share it with me! I just want to do it right and not mess it all up.

I've never attacked a problem like yours, but if you go to Doom9's Forum and run a search on "menus", you'll come up with several options. Good luck and Merry Christmas

shock,

It's easy, just use these steps

1. RIP with SmartRipper 2.41
2. SPLIT using IfoEDIT 0.95
3. Burn using any burning program like NERO

Happy New Year!

Hey thanks for the reply. I found that there was allready a post about this that i must have overlooked. You have to leave at least 1 vob-id present in the pgcs that you are cutting out. Now they work great.
