I've waisted the past two days trying to get an acceptable result
when encoding a DV-AVI with CCE so that i can burn it to a DVD-R

For the record: I imported the DV content (PAL) trough firewire from my Camcorder.

I cannot seem to get rid of the field order problems that have been described on this forum. When i view the result on my PC it looks, fine, but on my TV i get a very jittery image.

I've tried just about every setting in CCE (upper field first checked and not checked), change the field flag with manualy, ect... all amounting to the same: great result on PC, shitty results on TV!

when i try the build in Mpeg2 encodeder in Premiere 6.5, i get acceptable results, however this does not support multipass encoding and i really would like to use the multipass encoding option in CCE.

Is there anybody who has gotten CCE to work properly with DV (PAL) content ?

Can somebody give me a complete overview of all the right settings and the nessecary steps to perform ?

Sorry, I'm an NTSC guy, but try a different version of CCE, if possible. I recall someone saying that the field order button was broken on some versions.

I'm beginning to think that you should use TMPEGenc for interlaced encoding 'cause it appears that CCE has serious issues with it.
Whereas, CCE is great with progressive encoding.

Ok thanks, i'll try that this weekend and let you know the results...

Meanwhile i have another question that i hope you can anwser. I tried frameserving from Adobe premiere straight to CCE.
The frameserving part in Premiere is working fine, but CCE doensn't recognise the AVS format, not even after i 'patched' it to do so. I keeps saying: 'this is not a AVI file'.
