View Full Version : No Sound when Fast Forwarding Large GKnot AVI?

Hi!

I've been encoding the Matrix all day today and it all went fine. Basically, I produced a 1.4 GB file at a fairly decent resolution. When i run it, the aspect ratio and sound are perfect. However, when i click on the track to fast forward to a differnet point, it never again regains its sound (even though if played from the *beginning*, it comes up to that point with sound perfectly). What's wrong with this picture? I mean, i tried WMP, BSPlay, everything else I had to play it, and it's the same problem - it does not fast forward with sound.

Now, for my second (I imagine fairly simple) stupid question - now that i have a 1.4 Gb file made with the "2 CD" setting in GKnot, how do I now cut it in half? At first, I was guessing i could use some splitter prog to split the AVI, the rebuild their indices with DivFix, but that seems very unprofessional. There's gotta be a better way.

Pardon me if these questions are redundant.

Thanx

I can answer your second question, on splitting. Nandub is used. You'll find the procedure in the top level of the DivX5 Guide (http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main3.htm) under step number three.

You can also use AviSplitCalc (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/SupportUtils/avisplit.zip) as a front-end to Nandub.
