Woohoo , i have finally re-encoded a movie " St:Generations " it was a movie only deal as i have yet to learn how to do a complete backup " with subs xtra's etc " i was thinking of just dropping the newly resized vobs back into the original dvd structure but it probably wont work as there will probably be less vobs and i think the ifo files will be wrong ? as the vobs have changed " resized ".
After reading guides and various posts i finally took the plunge and it turned out not so bad after all " seemed very complicated at first " but after following some guides and putting some of the knoweledge i have gained from reading these forums " as the guides always seem to miss the small things , like click this button hehe " .
Doing this movie " generations " has given me a confidence boost and the need now to do a full backup.
Software i'm using is Maestro , dvd decryter ,cce and vfapi, dvd2avi and i must say it was a steep learning curve getting used to them but i feel it was worth it.
Cheers Twodogs
