I believe I have the most recent version (at least a recent one) of XVID. I am trying to convert an OGM file to MPG, and the video was coded in XVID. I know how to demux, but when I open the video in TMPGEnc it just stalls. It will encode, but I end up with an audio only mpg when I am done.
Suggestions? I don't want to go through virtual dub to change it from xvid to divx and then to mpg.
Thanks

Check to see if there is no errors in the demuxed avi file in virtualdub.
Do you input the audio and video seperately? If not, try that.
Check and see what fourcc is used to decode xvid. If DIVX, change it to XVID instead or vise versa.
Eventhough it's possible, don't use ogm as the video or audio. I've found, the directshow filters aren't that great when it comes to that kind of decoding. Best process is wav and avi inputs. (Or avs if there is a subtitle stream you want to add permanent.)
Try a different method of seperating the streams. I know of ogmdemuxer, graphedit, and I believe the new virtualdubmod is capable of doing these things. Could be associated to the way it's demuxed.
Hope you get it working.
