Let me appologize in advance if this has been adressed in other threads, I've done about 2 hours of searching with little or no results on the topic.

I am currently using jdobbs method of importing ifoupdate's chapter list for multiple pgcs into maestro. I then created my play lists according to the other created text file as prescribed in the method. No problems. I have done this with over 10 dvds... No problems.

My problem lies on the extras disc of iceage. The big vts set 11 has an encoded length of 1h 4m. However ifoupdate gives me chapters that lie in the 1h 5m to 1h 14m range. I tried just assigning other chapter points to these pgcs but when i compile and check the files several of the features are missing or link to the wrong point in the vts set.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Sorry Bruce Leroy -- I don't have a clue. The chapter times IFOUpdate gives you come from the original IFO file based upon the total listed time for all cells within each chapter. I haven't done Ice Age disk 2 so I'd be guessing.

How long is the audio? The reason I ask is the possibility of still pictures. They have a time to display... but DVD2AVI might see them as a single frame with an audio that is longer.

The audio is 1:04:00, the same as the video... I think you're right though. I think that the extra time is due to still pictures... I don't know how to adress this issue except to study the dvd on a set top and create pgcs accordingly. That would be blind guessing though as I wouldn't be exactly sure which pgc coresponded with which extra feature... Maybe I'll stick to main features.

Thanks.

@Bruce Leroy,

I think I've determined what this probably is. I ran into something similar in "Unfaithful"

Some of the PGCs are pointing back to the same sectors (the same sector is a part of more than one PGC/CELL). So the time for the sectors are being counted more than once in IFOUPDATE when it is creating the chapter files.

I'm working on a way to correct this...

Thanks Jdobbs, you're the man... If anyone could figure that out it would be you.
