Has anyone tried to make a guide using the Main Concept MPEG2 encoder in Vegas Video? Its very good quality and should be easy to import AC3 and AVI assets into it. I use it for making DVD's of my own footage, but it shouldn't be too hard to replace one of the TMPGEnc/CCE methods discussed here for recompressing VOB files.

Anyone take a look at Vegas Video 3.0?

I'm not an expert myself, so I wouldn't be the person to write the guide!

It seems the the biggest issue with TMPGEnc is speed and not syncing audio correctly. With CCE, it's not having any built in chaptering and it takes a few extra steps.

I don't know if the Main Concept encoder would be the Holy Grail, but its worth a look.
