This is happening on Multi-pass encodes. I do the first pass using my expected average bitrate, in CBR mode. No problems. Then I switch to multi-pass VBR, and only adjust the average bitrate in the "Bit allocation" window. Very close to the end of each pass, I receive a "CCE encoding failed:" with *no* further information in the box! If I click "OK", it will just start on next pass. I get this with each and every pass.
This is directly encoding an an HuffYUV AVI, with no frame serving.

The AVI is about 27GB. I have 300GB of space, so that's no problem.:) Is there any way to confirm the "damage" to the AVI? Thanks!

fastimes, did you find a fix ?? I'm now getting the same as you. Only I'm using flask and cce so on accepting the error the encode bombs and I'm left with a 0mb mpeg2 !! Another 5hrs down the pan.....

No fix, so far. I'm getting about ready to do a reinstall of Windows and all the software!
