I'm still pretty new to AVISynth, so I know very little about it's abilities and usage... so I need to ask:

What's a good filter to improve compressability of DVD-source Anime? I've read up a little on Convolution3D, but there is so much info on it that I can't decipher what are the best settings for anime. I've also seen some stuff on nomosmooth, but I dont know anything about it. Could someone help out this struggling newbie please? :)

The best advice anyone can give is read a lot and test a lot. Download all the filters you can find and try them out. No-one can tell you what will give the best results on your source material.

If you don't know how to tweak convultion3d just try if the presets
work for you. In the convultion3d txt you can find the values thats
used for preset settings.
