I'm not sure why the mpg comes out with a cropped screen. I know that I have it set to encode with the 16.9 setting, but it just won't seem to keep it that way. Does anyone know of a user guide I can use, or know why it's doing this?

I was also wondering if it were possible to keep a mpg file with the ac3 in it...it becomes way too big when you use wav for the audio...

Um... Yes, there is a way to keep the original ac3 file. Try muxing the file with bbmpeg or other dvd authoring tools.

Back to your WideScren question: In Settings on the Advanced tab, set the Video Arrange Method to 'Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)'.

I don't see an advanced tab on TMPGEnc 2.5

Well, it's there. I just checked versions 2.02, 2.50, and 2.59 and they all have the "Advanced" tab.

What tabs do you see? I see 6 tabs, Video-Advanced-GOP Structure-Quantize Matrix-Audio-System.

If you are using the Project Wizard, there are 2 ways to get to the Advanced Tab (and all the other tabs). On the "Filter Setting page (3/5)" you can click on "Other Settings", or from the "Bitrate Setting page (4/5)" you can click on "Expert".

If you are not using the Project Wizard, you should see a "Setting" button in the lower-right of the main screen.
