Hi,

I've encountered this a couple of times now and don't know how to handle it. I have a movie with multiple pgcs. For example:

pgc1: main movie
pgc2: trailer

Here's the problem: the main movie has 5 audio tracks and the trailer only one (also a different bitrate then track 1 of the main movie). When I use dvd2avi to extract the audio it also says it's track 6.

So I use scenarist to reauthor the movie and use some dummy audio tracks (for track 6 of pgc 1 and track 1 to 5 of pgc2).

When playing the dvd there's no sound with the trailer (I have to manually switch to track 6 to have sound).

I I look at the original ifo I see that track 6 (that one of pgc2) has to mappings. Something like (OX80, 0X85). My authored ifo has only one (0X85). I think that this is the problem, but I don't know if I can change this and how (maybe with ifoedit).

Or I'm thinking of this while typing:
is it possible in scenarist to add two audio streams to one track? So in pgc1:

track 1 pgc1: original audio stream and dummy stream with same bitrate as track 6 of pgc2)
track 1 pgc2:originial audio stream and dummy stream with same bitrate as track 1 of pgc1.

Cannot try this right now, but maybe it works.

You're doing the right thing. Just use ifoupdate with 'copy audio and subs' checked and it will copy your audio structure onto your .ifo, resulting in changing your 0x80,0x85 to 0x85. Warner Bros DVD eh? I see this a lot :D

I'm moving this thread. This should have been posted in the Authoring forum. IFOEdit is definitely not the right place for an question like this. :D

So what's the way to go? 2 audio streams on one audio track in scenarist?

My problem is that before it's 0X80, 0X85 and after I reauthor it becomes 0X85 and I have to switch the audio manually. Ifoupdate doesn't change this for me (version 0.57)

Use that setting as i described already above.

call me stupid, but I can't find the setting. i use ifoupdate with the following settings (see attached screenshot). When I do this my audio won't play automatically

I always have this option on and I still have the problem though

weird, because that option overwrites the old .ifo with the new .ifo's structure of subtitles and audio. Give a PM to Jdobbs (the author) and see if he can tell you why it's not working. Maybe you've found a bug?

I'm just curious... what title are you working on anyway?

Different titles:

r2: ice age (the extras)
r2: blade 2 pgc2 is some kind of moviestudio logo, wich now plays without sound (who cares? but same problem)
r2: proof of life (Warner bros I guess?). pgcx has a trailer, which plays without sound, untill I manually switch to it.

i solved the prob in a diff way

i use maestro to reauthor

then, on the spec. pgc, i go to properties and disable the other
tracks where no sound is.

works fine for me

may that can help you out if theres also such an option in sceneartist.
