dvdauthor
A simple set of tools to help you author a DVD. The idea is to be able to create menus, buttons, chapters, etc, but for now you can just take an mpeg stream (as created by mplex -f 8 from mjpegtools 1.6.0) and write it to DVD. See the download page for files!
dvdrtools is a fork of cdrtools, with the primary goal of supporting writable DVD drives

There's also cdrecord-ProDVD available as binary only releases for private use; alas it's not free software yet, thus we'll have to use dvdrecord until the license changes.

For miniDVD (DVD-V format on CD-R media) plain [cdrecord] should be used.
