Bit of a newbie and going through all the tutorials looking at what's available out there, and wondering how something like Dragon's Lair was authored. Is it all just time based menus? Is there a name for this? I'm getting a drx-500ul and would like to try to 'port' the sega saturn game 'D' to DVD.

Other question is about scripting. I'm working on a short video piece consisting of 5 scenes. The gimmick and why it has to be done on DVD is that the 5 scenes are viewable in any order and still make sense. I realzie it would be easy to make a lot of playlists but is there anyway (DVD studio pro script would be keen, we finally got it at the college) to do some sort of fancy 5! command with no repeats. That's 120 differant ways to view it. I hope this makes some sort of sense, lack of sleep+finals=bla!

you could create 120 playlists, one of each order (actually, it would be 119 playlists) and then create a command sequence to choose one of them at random.

or

create 5 command sequences, make the first one pick one of your scenes at random, save the number to a GPRM then play it, then a 2nd command sequence will pick a random clip, if its not the same as the first, then go ahead. etc etc
