Ok, dont really see a good place for this thread, but hope one of the moderators could find this info of help and place it where it could benefit others.
If you ever get the error "synchronization failure on vob file" in ifoedit or the error "cannot locate a frame sync word at an expected byte offset" in maestro, the problem is from a corrupt raid or which i am going to try to narrow down is possibly a bad hard drive. I am betting its just a corrupt raid.
For a couple of weeks i have had these issues trying to do the movie Star Wars 2 and was going crazy trying to figure out why after 100+ movies i cant get ifoedit(tried 3 versions) or Maestro(even after reinstall of the software and finally the OS) i could not get rid of the errors. So, this time i ripped to my external hard drive and processed all files thru that one and guess what, no errors. So, i believe its either a corrupt raid or one of the hard drives on the raid is going bad.
Moderator, feel free to change the text, but i would post it somewhere cause i know i am not alone in running a raid and it could if not already happen to you.
ps thanks go to Tantabootsy for his help in figuring out these issues.
