how to make pics from dvd?

i'm using mplayer and i want to take some screenshot from "lord of the rings" dvd to make it my lilo background and desktop background too..
any suggestion?

Hmm with Mplayer AFAIK there isn't a way. But xine can do that easily (just a question of pressing a button and type in a name). If you have a nvidia-based Card you can easy have tvout too with xine, so its maybe worth a try .

Make sure you have nvtv running/installed. I can press two times on the fullscreen button and have really nice Fullscreen vid on both the monitor and the TV-out. If you have question on how to get this running I can explain a litlebit more about it. (I've running a geforce2mx with a second head for tv-out (hercules prophet 2 mx))
