I just noticed that on my Hughes Platinum Edition that it has what they call a D-VHS output. I basically call it a firewire as my computer has the same damn connector on it. So does this mean I could in fact get a full digital signal on my HDD just using the firewire cable connecting the DTV reciever to my computer? If so would I also need any special capture software. I do have the ATI AIW already. I jsut would love to be able to get the better digital quality using the firewire. I am a little new to this, so please help me out.

Well I went out and bought a firewire connector and didn't work. I guess that the hughes reciever has some type of code lock inside that won't let the signal out through the firewire. It is actually made for DVCR's. I wish I could get the damn signal to go out the back of that firewire so I could record a PURE digital signal.
