When reauthoring it seems like it does not matter if you put audio in tracks 1&2 or 1&4 because the authored ifo shows x80 & x81 even if you put the audio on x80 & x83.That leads me to the conclusion that you need to "fill" the other two tracks somehow to get the right data in the ifo.For example, when stripping out DD2.0 & french(x81&x82)audio and reusing original menu, when you select x81(DD2.0)audio from the menu you get the commentary track i put on x83.This is not a huge deal because you can easily select any stream with the audiobutton but it would be nice to have the original menus work exactly as intended. Is there a way to create a "dummy" audio track in Maestro?

Well, you almost had the concept solution right. Yes, you do need dummy tracks. However, you don't create them in your authoring program. Use Headac3he to create yourself a 3 frame audio stream from a real audio track, then use that tiny .ac3 'dummy file' to create fillers in your project.
