help with scenarist please

I am having a problem with T2 Ultimate edition. I am following the guide for seamless branching in scenarist but keep getting error messages. First thing is I am unclear about how to add chapter points. Call me thick if you like but I can't understand the guide when it comes to adding chapters. I am having a go at trying every different way I can think of but I have now run out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I try to compile the disk in scenarist without chapter points I get the following error message. "Dummy PGC cannot be first PGC" Eh? What the F**! does that mean??

I would like to put the chapters in if possible and that may sort out any other problems I am getting.

Have searched through the advanced authoring section but can't find an answer to this. Sorry for being thick and not understanding the guide on this. The guide is very good, but it assumes that it is dealing with a sane person and not me.

Is this basic chapter points or jumping to seamless branches?

On another point, do you know how to select scenes from a menu? I really need to know this.

If you follow the guide about seamless branching it says to copy all values from chapter extractor to scenarist, I do not know how to do this, as the chapter points need to be inserted per vob id to maintain seamless branching chapter points.

I have worked out how to insert chapter points manually in scenarist. This is fine for vob id 1 but I don't know how to get the chapters in for the other vob id's.

No I don't know how to select scenes from a menu.
